OccupationalTherapy.com, the leading source of online continuing education courses for occupational therapy professionals, announced the launch of a new quarterly journal club, presented in partnership with Wiley and Occupational Therapy International (OTI).

“This journal club will highlight the latest research and provide a model for excellence in clinical practice,” said OTI Editor, Dr. Franklin Stein. “Occupational therapists will be able to learn directly from published OTI authors and glean insights into best practices and treatment breakthroughs in the occupational therapy field.”

The club debuts September 30, 2015 at Noon PDT/3:00 pm EDT, with a live webinar presentation by OTI author Bryan Gee, PhD, OTR, BCP. Sound-Based Interventions for Children with ASD will uncover new research and evaluate the effectiveness of The Listening Program® with children with an autism spectrum disorder and sensory over-responsivity.

Occupational Therapy International is a peer-reviewed journal, publishing manuscripts that reflect the practice of occupational therapy throughout the world. Research studies or original concept papers are considered for publication. Priority for publication will be given to research studies that provide recommendations for evidence-based practice and demonstrate the effectiveness of a specific treatment method. Single subject case studies evaluating treatment effectiveness are also encouraged. Other topics that are appropriate for the journal include reliability and validity of clinical instruments, assistive technology, community rehabilitation, cultural comparisons, health promotion and wellness, surveys of treatment practices, historical reviews and meta-analyses that demonstrate treatment efficacy.
