Our Founding Story

Allied Health Media was established in 1997 to supplement allied health professionals’ ability to connect with other clinicians in their pursuit to share knowledge and best practices beyond local networks. Allied Health Media went live in 1999 as a virtual community with the goal of using advanced communication technology to improve health outcomes for patients. Clinicians’ increasing reliance on the Internet and the rapid advancement in product technology made the customary information sharing within the allied health field antiquated. AHM began partnering with leading industry participants to share information on new products and software to professionals in a timelier manner. Company representatives could utilize online classrooms by partnering with Allied Health Media to share information and roll out new technology.

Allied Health Media soon expanded into continuing education, providing courses at an affordable price. Today, the AHM course library contains tens of thousands of courses and AHM has become a leader in education in the fields in which it operates. AHM hosts in-depth seminars with the leading experts in the fields of audiology, speech pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and early childhood education. We have developed proprietary virtual simulation technology and continue to experiment with ways to enhance the online learning experience.
